I made it a rule not to kill wanted ships with less than 1000 c bounty, as it's usually not worth the price of ammo anyway. But if their bounty is over 1000c, then it's likely they are habitual landing pad offenders and need to be put down.
Yes this happened to me once. When I exited into the nav beacon space, I could see all the ships then WHOOSH! They vanish and the beacon hurled away. Tried several times before giving up. The nav beacon is orbiting the sun, so I assume my ship wasn't locking into it's frame of reference. I recommend...
You can also pull up the system maps, click on any station and check it's "state" on the Info screen. If it says 'civil war' then there should be conflict zones near the station(s). It takes a long time to find a battle that way, so best to just read the GalNet News for any current conflic...
Thanks. Yes deleting the whole folder worked. The game reinstalled the folder and now everything is working again, even my galactic map is working correctly!
