Re: Slow Down

Tor is right in that you get this message when approaching your target, but you also get it when apparently nowhere near any large mass. Under these circumstances check the System Map for any asteroid belt you may be passing through. In the first case it's an instruction to reduce speed, in the seco...

Re: I'm Gonna Be (5000 light years)

When you supercruise into a system, open the System Map. This will tell you who, if anyone, has discovered/mapped all/some of the planets. If it was done some time ago, the first discoverer may not have revealed all the interesting planets and features. You won't have confirmation of your own first ...

Re: I'm Gonna Be (5000 light years)

I did this recently and Tor is probably right - the scales tipped after I was 5000Ly away from home - although it might be a straight-line distance. Look forward to an increasingly confident step, a man-about-the-galaxy swagger added to your demeano...

Re: Ravine Jumping in Chi Herculis

I spent six weeks on Kumay going round the planet starting and ending at Bridger Town during the First Great Planetary Expedition. Anyone who enjoys travelling by SRV would find almost any part of the route challenging and entertaining: http://buckyballracing.org.uk/kumay.html One member of the grou...

Re: Questions for seasoned explorers

It's unlikely that any significant objects remain undiscovered, particularly nebulae as they are such obvious targets. If you travel directly towards a nebula you will also find most of the systems you pass through have also been tagged. I spent some months in the Tenebrae region, which you would ha...
