Re: Reported for sitting in a dock (apologies)

I agree 100% with Tor. The game has a mechanic that allows a way around this very issue. It's happened to me a few times when visiting engineers. Arrive at the base and all pads are full, just log and try again in solo. It would be more rude of me to ask other players, who will be engineering their ...

Re: 2nd & 3rd Thoughts on VR

I hear what your saying. I bought a Rift just over a week ago and I've thought about sending it back a few times because it's obvious there's still a ways to go in the development of VR. And, the fact that serious horsepower is required to make it perform to an acceptable level. Plus, I get a bit of...

Re: RIP Chris Squire

Sad to hear this :( I was never a Yes fan, but I have fond memories from school days. Where half my mates were Yes fans, myself and the rest were Genesis fans (Peter Gabriel times). We would have endless discussions about who was the best drummer, guitarist, etc. I'm a fan of Jon Anderson, especiall...

Re: New PC - How much power

I have a 3 monitor system, resolution 5760x1200, and use a single Radeon R290. In ED I get around 35-45 FPS in stations and 75-95 FPS in space. Not sure what I get in a combat zone or other busy place - somewhere betweeen 40 and 80 FPS. All this is with Ultra settings  ED is very good with ...

Re: Crash - Reboot Twice

Cmos battery is only used when the PC is switched off - it retains all the bios settings, including date and time. You would know that its a battery failure if it lost settings overnight, and it will repeat this everytime it is switched off for more than 30 mins or so. If your PC crashes and it rese...

Re: Crash - Reboot Twice

If your bios date is resetting to 12/31/1899 after the crash (you sure it's not 12/31/1999?) something is very wrong with your hardware. I'ts not likely to be anything to do with your OS or Elite, or any other software installed. One of the symptoms of hardware causing a crash is the bios gets reset...

Re: Let's see your gaming contraption....

My man cave/rig Way to cram it in there. :) Nice rig. What's that amp you've got there? Looks a classic. :) It is a bit of a classic and fairly rare. It's a 1971 NAD (New Audio Dimension before they changed it to NAD) Model 160 thats been restored and is in mint condition. I use it as a headphone a...
