I'm in the same boat. I stopped playing shortly before Horizons; I've dipped in for an hour or three here and there since but haven't really touched planetary landings, and know nothing about engineers, or powerplay factions, or whatever. I log in to today's game and have basically no idea what's go...

Even when submitting you still need to try to align yourself with the escape vector. If you are misaligned from the escape vector when you drop from frameshift, you will take damage and have a heat increase proportional to how far off the escape vector you were.
