Elite: Dangerous PvE - Mobius

I've had Elite for a long while now, don't play often, mainly because I didn't have anyone to play with. Hoping to get more plugged in!

Hello and welcome to the group Commander Leoric

I know this is gonna sound terrible, but other than bounty hunting/trading/exploring for grins, I haven't really done any missions or the other stuff. Is there a guide you guys know of that talks about engineers, power play, permits and the like?

I mean I don't even know what I can do with materials/data (or what they mean) and the only thing I've ever done in a SRV is drink beer.

edit: getting ready to do a lot of exploration, should I be doing that in the Mobius Faction group?
