Specifically, Mobius members going head to head over the same objective for their faction. If there are arguments between Mobius members working opposite sides of a turf war, what side does the Guild take?

From what I have read, aligning with a faction/sub-faction can bring you benefits and rewards (1.3). I have also seen large squads break up into smaller factions, keeping the root name and adding something before or after the main name.

The only reason I bring this up (besides living it in a guild) is that 1.3 is going to beta testing this week.

So I don't see why everyone in the private group would have to pick the same side. I imagine there are more than enough players for people to play along with whatever interests them. As far as competing goes:

For non combat goals I'm not sure no non consensual PvP is the same as everyone gets a winner badge. Potentially worth polling people over but I think people would be fine with non violent competition.

If the goal takes you to a conflict zone type thing I imagine that most people would be happy with the current CZ type rules applying. You can always avoid those types of things.

If they become unavoidable and very necessary then there may be problems.

PowerPlay won't change the rules of the group or its motto, "to each their own".

No one will be required or denied the right to join one side or another, constitute sub-groups, or whatever. The rules are simple and have been made that way for a reason. PowerPlay may force us to rewrite some of their details, but the gist will remain the same.

My two cents -

It seems that there is a bit of misinterpretation creeping in of what the 'Mobius Private Group' actually is. In-game the 'Mobius Group' is just a playing environment, that Mobius has kindly created to make up for the lack of native PVE mode.

The PVP in CVs is to allow player to 'dabble' in PVP if they so wish, knowing that once they leave the CV they are safely returning to a PVE only environment.

The in-game 'Mobius Group' isn't a Guild, or indeed any sort or collective group, it's just a bunch of people who want to play in a PVE environment, free from unwanted PVP, griefing and PKers, safe in the knowledge that there are opportunities for social interaction without any of the less tasteful aspects of multi-player games.

For me this forum sits as an aside from the in-game group, apart from being an excellent fan site full of helpful interested people, it's this site (not the 'Mobius Group') that provides collective activities in the form of the 'Faction Fleets'. These fleets I feel will be the central aspect when 1.3 drops, these will be the place (with help from INARA) to plot and scheme the overthrow of opposing powers. That said however, this still needs to be within the rules of the wider 'Mobius Group', Mobius stands for freedom of choice, the choice to align yourself to any faction, power, or group, but most importantly the choice to play in a PVE only environment.

In my opinion, any extension in PVP beyond the current CV rules, and any single alignment of power or faction goes again the basic tenet of what Mobius was trying to create.

This is the point I was trying to raise in my original post, there has recently been a thread regarding making a "Mobius" power and several reference to Azrael as being the groups "home system".

I joined Mobius for the playing environment, to have some interaction with other players while avoiding the silliness that goes on in Open in some areas. Solo was a bit lonely!
The fact that the Mobius station is in Empire space means nothing to me, it's just a co-incidence. I certainly don't feel that I need to show allegiance to the Empire, I don't particularly care for them.
If Mobius ever wanted to be more than just the playing environment, I'd probably leave....

Well apart from being against the whole concept of Mobius, it would be unfair to the wider community. Whilst we may not choose to play in open or solo, many players do, having one environment as a power excludes the rest of the player community and is not something I believe FD would contemplate.

FD has always taken the stance that it is one galaxy regardless of which mode anyone plays in (which incidentally is the right approach IMO). Even if open could coordinate enough to raise an opposition, it still excludes those playing in solo, and especially those who don't visit the forums.

So whilst it is perfectly acceptable for any 'Faction Fleet' to align themselves with any 'power', doing it on mass (i.e. all of Mobius) is a) in contradiction to our motto, and b) goes against a basic concept of how the game works.

Saved me asking - I was going to find out where "Mobius Station" was and I'm going to fly there.

The rest of it? Meh, I couldn't give a rats ass about factions, Federation, Alliance, Empire, Powers... I turn on the PC, shoot / sell some stuff, then go back to the drudgery that is life.

Am I the only one who couldn't really care less about "Powerplay" ? Nor am I "waiting for 1.3 !!!!!1111!!!" . I'm more bothered about how I get the last couple of faction missions so I can mess about with a drop ship, then move onto getting a clipper... just because I want to.

Just play the way you want, no one is going to shoot you in Mobius instance unless you ask them too. Wasn't that the entire point of Mobius?

Go play in Open if you want to shoot people or be shot at out of the blue because you are a member of some gang. I won't be playing, I'll be inside looking at pictures of girls ;)
