I had to keep moving systems when starting out, the locals stopped liking me because of all the botched missions :S
After a little while I had just managed to buy some gimballed multi's on my sidewinder.
And just having K&M, not so hot on the interdiction game either.
But after the multi's I had woken some of the good'ol blood lust and the long honed reflexes honed through the entire wing commander series, followed by Starlancer, and then Freelancer.
Anyhoo, managed to best a few sidey's maybe even a cobra or two at this point and I get interdicted by a Clipper.
Can't be too certain but I think I'm still in my sidey at this point, at best a viper mk3.
Well, I'm sitting there all goo goo eyed at this big gorgeous ship and while I'm still going "ohh shiny" it blows me up, in five seconds flat.
Another memorable one is in my first python, could barely afford the ship, and the guns to put on it.
Take it into a RES site and start picking a fight with a wing of three whatever.
Well I get beat to hell and while I'm trying a last ditch effort of a reboot repair, to get my thruster back online, I hit the self destruct in stead..
Probably would have blown up anyways but, having those options close when one is to be used during flustered situations..
Dear FD, heard about this thing called UI design?
That was about 25 000 kills or so ago.
So when I say that it is as simple as, just going out there and killing some people, I mean that in the same sense as climbing Mount Everest is merely a matter of walking up to the top of the hill.
It is a simple task done with great difficulty.
Although, climbing Everest would be a bit harder than PVE combat in ED.
Hey I'm Thor -
People call me Bob.
Rule 1: Pillage. Then burn.
Rule 2: No such thing as overkill, as long as there are reloads.
