How do I get around Banard's Loop?

Postby Dyrewolff » Sun Jul 16, 2017 1:43 pm

New Explorer here, and I wanted to come out and check out some nebula etc. that I've heard lots of people talk about. I came out to Orion and then found a roadblock. Everything anywhere near Banard's loop requires a permit. Every route I try to plot seems to fail unless it head back to the bubble almost directly. Even if it's only 300 LY to the side.

Any advice for this angry rookie explorer?

Not sure on your jump range but just keep going to the side, or diagonal, or up. There is not really much else you can do

My jump range is about 27 Ly. It's just BS that they block off entire regions of space with no way to see in advance or way to easily see a way around.

I've just remembered that there is a way you can see the regions. Its called EDSM. Go to the layers tab in the top right and you can toggle restricted sectors. Then when you click on them, you can get a list.

It's because there is something out there, it never used to be locked off, but when Thargoid stuff started to happen they also locked the area. I don't this its a coincidence that the symbol on the barnacles looks like Barnard's Loop
