Video Editing Software

Postby Loriath » Thu Dec 01, 2016 4:11 pm

Hey peoples.

I need the collective brain power to find video editing software so I can edit and post some stuff.

Requirements:

CHEAP! as in FREE
EASY to use 'cause I am an idiot.
Windows 7 x64 capable.
Works with MP4 files.

Any Ideas?

I second the inquiry.
And no, the youtube video editor or any browser based one will do.

Rule 2: No such thing as overkill, as long as there are reloads.

I have a free one that I use to crop shadow play clips when I use the Vive. It looks like it has a goo amount of editing options.

I don't have the link on my phone, but I'll post it here when I get home from work

I think John Luke is referring to avidemux.
Even I figured it out for making clips. Maybe not a good choice if you want effects ...
It's time to give this another go.

Take a look at OpenShot, free and easy, drag and drop functionality, transitions and effects.

Full disclosure, I'm one of the moderators for them. Lightworks or DaVinci are probably your best bets on the list.

Second vote for Windows Movie Maker. Its basic but very easy to pick up. There are many tutorials on the web. I edited and published my first ever video, with zip, nil, nada, previous experience in a couple of hours.

I previously used TrakaxPC to make some professional looking videos.

It's not free, but it has a free trial period which is more than enough for one project.

I use windows Movie Maker for basic stuff. (trimming, splicing, etc)

For cropping and other advanced tasks, Roger Wilko hit the nail on the head, I use Avidemux.
