UA Sites I've found

These are some of the systems where I have found UAs. Your luck may vary as it is an RNG roll.

1. ARIES DARK REGION GW-W D1-52
2. ARIES DARK REGION OJ-P B6-3
3. ARIES DARK REGION XK-N B7-2
4. COL 285 SECTOR FB-X D1-46
5. HIP 14479

Remember to head out from the main star, preferably 150ls out, looking for "Anomaly Detected, Threat 4", signal sources.

Are UAs completely random for all systems or are those systems that will spawn them - just at random locations?

EDIT: Did you fly in Mobius or in open? I logged into open and they are ALL OVER THE PLACE! I found 5 of them in just a few jumps. Some Aries systems even spawned multiple "Anomaly detected" USS!

Free floating UAs spawn in systems that are between 135 LY and 150 LY away from the star Merope in the Pleiades nebula. This know as the UA shell, and has been around since 1.4 or so. Within the shell, they spawn randomly, but some systems have better spawn rates than others. The ARIES DARK REGION systems are mentioned as the best spawning grounds, and my experience in ARIES DARK REGION GW-W D1-52 was that I needed no more than 5-10 minutes to get one. Circling the star at 100-200 Ls distance is the recommended tactic, but you need to be flying. Lurking in SC at throttle 0 no longer works.

I jumped into some of the systems mentioned by Cmdr Falcon Darkstar and found several UAs in just a few seconds of orbiting the main star. As mentioned - USS spawns around 100-200ls away from the star
