Life expectancy

Postby HAMM3R » Tue Jun 14, 2016 7:37 pm

After reading all these horror stories about the NPC's wreaking havoc on players after the 2.1 update I've started to wonder what actually are my chances of making it home alive in my unshielded/unarmed Asp

That being said, I'm still so far away, in addition to my slow progress, there's probably going to be five more updates that might change things before I hit the bubble. But still, I'm a bit worried.

Scooping fuel is very much like making love to a beautiful woman. First check the target is hot enough,
then approach slowly. Once close enough, pull out your scoop and fill her up. After you're done just
gently pull away, turn around and leave.

If it's a while before you get back, I'd say judging from the noise being made that we can expect more "balance" to be brought to NPCs.

That said when you do come back and are close to the bubble give a shout out and I'm sure we can rustle up an escort.

I have just returned this Sunday after gone exploring for 4 months. On the way home I wasn't interdicted once. However as Xebeth already stated, there are plenty of commanders willing to 'guide' you in.

Guess it's bit of a game of luck as well. But knowing my luck...

Some kind of escort thing would definitely be ace since all I have is harsh language. And one heat sink.

And yea, I'm rockin' it in EU Mobius.

I'm sorry yes the story is true. But it's a strange thing. I got interdicted many times since 2.1 landed. Got away fine.

Started to wonder about those stories. Mining went well interdicted there also but np.

Today I was in my Asp Explorer with paper shielding no offensive weapons not pledged not anarchy space no CZ and without comms interdiction.

It cut through my shields and while boosting shot like 4 or 5 missiles at me. Had no chance.

It seemed today my number was up.

And if I'm representative for the game you got a 1 in a 200 chance you meet this nasty npc too.

However read today someone gets this a few times a day. I dunno.

For what it's worth many ppl are ready to guide you in. By the time you get back alert us. Np.

If you don't mind the 12 ly jump range I'm sure we could muster up a few dozen corvettes to escort you in from the edge.

But it really seem to be rather centric to wether you have cargo or not.
If you don't have cargo whatsoever I can travel pretty much with impunity.

Run a mission and receive four whatevers.....

Then hey!
Presto.
An elite gunship wants me, my cargo and half of my family jewels...

I've lost two well shielded Asps in the last three days if that's any guide.

Oh, and I've got an A-rated FDL sitting in a hangar. It's mothballed until something drastic changes. I'm not paying 4 million credits in insurance just to take the thing for a spin.

Pretty much this, the only time I have had any trouble was either when I was hauling cargo, or when I was in a mission. It took me AGES to find one of these angry as hell NPCs, but once I did... oh MAN did I ever.

I've been interdicted many times over the last few days, with no cargo at all.

Or so I thought.

It turns out that sometimes you get cargo as well as credits for completing missions. I was flying around with cargo I didn't know I had.

Yep - I'm in. BST 9pm-midnight except Wednesdays.
