Sounds like a needle-in-a-heystack type of thing to me so I probably won't bother :D Unless I manage to stumble on one. Although I did come across with a few USS' out there in the wild as I was cruising towards a star/planet for a scan but couldn't get a lock as they just zipped by and I couldn't locate them afterwards.

But I doubt there were/are any alien artefacts around the Barnard's Loop region.

Scooping fuel is very much like making love to a beautiful woman. First check the target is hot enough,
then approach slowly. Once close enough, pull out your scoop and fill her up. After you're done just
gently pull away, turn around and leave.

From that guy, SpaceTexans hints I think it can probably be found in a strong signal source. I dont think you even have to travel far. I've been hitting SSS a lot, both alone or in wing ( nice fights, hefty bounties) and from time to time you get a military convoy, vultures and anacondas escorting type 9. Never had a cargo scanner on to check the Lakons, but I suspect this is where one will find the artifact.

Let me tell you an embarrassing and unbelievable story.

I was patrolling within the Nav Signal of Leesti, trying to make some cash, as usual. After a few waves of unwanted ships I saw a Hauler with Master rank, because I didn't get a lot of bounty I thought I shoot him down even though it doesn't give me a lot of credits. I was a few meters behind him and he dropped his cargo at estimated 20% hull strength. Normally I don't care about containers, on the contrary, I only have a max capacity of 2. Why should I pick one of them up? It's just annoying to see them on the radar, and it's confusing, so yeah I just fly right into them to destroy them.

I did the same a few minutes ago and I made a very, very frightened face when I noticed too late that amongst those containers was one of those artifacts. Call me a lunatic, but I SWEAR to god it was one of them even though I only saw it for a fraction of a second. I crashed into it, and therefore destroyed it, and you can't believe how much I hate myself right now.

You can believe it or not, but I certainly know what I've seen. And destroyed.
Damn! >.<

If you only saw it for a second it may have been one of the slightly more common (although still rare) ones like an Ancient Artefact, well that's what I'd keeping telling myself anyway :P

Well I'll be damned. I just spotted an SSS last night way out in the unpopulated space. I was looking at the bodies in the system while hovering next to the main star when I noticed the strong signal but it was only 144km away. By the time I had my ship turned towards it and hit disengage SC it blew by and I was left floating in emptiness.

Probably just bunch of pirates in their pesky Condas. Good riddance.

Well it looked like the artifact from the thread. And as you said, it's still rare, would've been a great catch.

That's a real bummer, but on the plus side it does mean they are available without having to risk SSS
