Day 27 - Nourse City in Esumindii system.
Still on my way to Lave, some trading and bounty hunting at Nav Beacons.
I might hang around here a few days, as this is a high tech station with agricultural, extraction and refinery systems one or two jumps away, and it sells good quality stuff to upgrade the Cobra.
No contact with other Cmdrs.

I may look into helping out with this tomorrow. I'm presently Fed friendly, but it's not as though I really care too much about their rep. Haha.

In other news more OP related, I finally picked up my Type 6 and gave it a spin through my current high profit trade route. The 44 additional cargo makes for a sweet additional profit! Four round trips and I almost clear a million. Not shabby. I'm sure this little route will dry up eventually, though. A shift in supply and demand, or whatever.

In any event, I've got my multi-role Cobra back again! Wewt! I can leave the Type 6 to collect dust a spell, and get back out there into the galaxy to see what kind of trouble I can find for myself. haha.

Bought a Viper last night and kitted it out. Spent far too long trying to balance power, even with top spec power plant. Tried hunting with it but I prefer the Cobra. I sold the Viper again

Does anyone know, what exactly gives combat rank progression? Amount of ships shot or amount of credits gained for shooting ships ? Seems the rank of the enemies also plays a role, like, if you're only shooting harmless you get no progression, shooting Elites ranks fast(er) ...

I do think it is to do with the differential between your ranking and your target's. So at Expert, Harmless targets give little to no progression, but Expert and above does. I know that I'm on over 1200 kills and still Expert

I assumed so, thats why I switched from bountyhunting (with only few targets of higher ranks) to combat zones where I shoot much more deadly/dangerous/elite ships

PS: I'm at 1500+ kills / 10.000.000+ cr bounties and still expert

I had over 1800 and still Expert until the weekend. I let the authorities run down the shields on an Elite 'Conda and then steamed in with the multi cannons on the power plant and claimed the kill which took me to Master.

Grinding in my asp to save up for a Imperial Clipper.

Only need 3 million more before I can buy, outfit and trade in her properly. As I'm flying an asp, I should be able to accomplish that in a day or 2.

When I say properly, I learned from bitter experience NOT to fly without enough to cover insurance, (1.1 mil) and trading is difficult without enough to fill your hold with trade goods. (about another mil)
