Hello all and thanks for offering the possibility of enjoying the game without the hassle of unwanted PVP.
I'm a player of old who's been flying vipers since Elite's 'spectrum' days, but literally quit ED after playing very little, as a consequence of being shamefully destroyed in two different occasions while minding my own business, in high security space.
I was actually appalled by the miserable way in which the perpetrators could easily destroy my 2cent ship without the least consequence, so I thought that if the game allowed that kind of behavior from people with 2yo accounts, versus a 15 hour account, ED wasn't the game for me, despite how much I loved the immersion and visual experience of this new title.
Since then ED stood in my game library for almost two years collecting dust and nostalgic glimpses until I thought 'fuck it': i'd rather play literally offline (despite the utter, mind boggling solitude it represents in the vastity of the game's space) than not at least enjoying it under its most basic aspects, but with the twist that GTA5 (GTA being the best computer game series in the history of man in my opinion) offered an interesting and intelligent take on the possible solution.
So I went to the forums, and there, among the irrelevant ramblings from the spineless, pathetic maggots that ever fuel the grief issue since the game went first online (and where they can achieve anything not certainly because of skill, but rather because they pit six figure credit ships versus the equivalent of flying tin cans with a laser), one illuminated sould mentioned Mobius.
So here I am. If ED would offer a reasonable, realistic rule of engagement to discourage one sided fights or at least a reasonable 'separation' between lawless systems that allow criminals and those who don't, I would be absolutely in favor of open play, but since the situaion is different, I'm glad to have found like minded people to play the game with, even if I usually fly solo and in awkward time slots.
Thanks.
