The Order [of Mobius] Galactic Power

Postby raorn » Fri Nov 23, 2018 8:49 am

They say, with enough support minor faction may become a Power. Yuri Grom is actually a player Power.

Mobius could have special module - Friendship Drive. FSD that can not be interdicted by another CMDR while you are plegded to The Order.

Discuss :-)

With Friendship Drive installed, other CMDRs can't interdict you, but you also can't interdict other CMDRs. Friendship Drive can't be damaged by other CMDRs or SLF. Friendship Drive ignores mass-lock factor iff there are other hostile CMDRs nearby. Friendship Drive automatically disables if you attack or interdict friendly CMDR (who is also pledged to The Order).

I kind of like this idea. I can see something like this ultimately doing away with the needs for PvE players to have their own private group, as it means that if you don't want to get ganked, join OOM, get the friendship drive and you can continue to play in open without fear of interdiction. Although that said, it wont deal with the station slot-blocking or ramming type griefers. Maybe with the friendship drive on, security services wont fine or kill you if another player smacks into you at a station entrance? Then its pretty much all embracing and cuts out all the griefing opportunities i can think of.

Since it's a very hippie idea, you can be sure this power will meet the same fate as the OoM faction, namely be wiped out by the pvp and bgs crowds.

would be easier to simply have a pvp flag, or pve mode implemented, but Frontier don't really care about that.

Wiped, you say? I doubt it is technically possible to "wipe" a Power HQ. As of controlled/exploited systems... Well, for most of the player it doesn't really matters what words are shown in "controlled faction" field on a galactic map for some system. Couple dozens of those who DO care was a bit upset, but nothing really changed for them.

That's the whole issue with powerplay.. It doesn't really change anything. Pretty pointless as it is. The whole bubble could be imperial, we wouldn't notice.

Videogames are pointless in general. People who are into this Powerplay stuff are competing with each other, raising and lowering some imaginary numbers. People who don't care about PP or BGS are trying to raise and lower different imaginary numbers. If their numbers are totally different, they should not affect each other's gameplay.
