Hmmmm...That does look good.....

Last time in the Hog....See my NPC wingman chaffing.....I think what's going on.....

Threat warning starts going off......About 3 secs later...Boom.....Both engines total loss of power.....

Look out window at engines.....Ohhhhhh fuck...…

Start looking for landing spot...…..Boom...…..Cockpit now sounds like a fecking arcade.....

Lower landing gear......No kin wheels......Bollocks...….Bitchin betty is at it now...….

Managed to plough a field and land in the same process...….

Certainly got the heart going though...….

Looking forward to this.....Apparently NO CGI...….

Sounds better than my day.

Gone up against some Ai in the hornet and gotten blown away every fucking time.

At least eight respawns.
And I think I managed 1 kill.

Pretty good at the bombing and the ground attacks.
But missile evasion completely escapes me.

For some reason mine can't hit for shit and theirs can't miss.

Well, my wife has been telling me we need to get a VR headset for the family. Following that surprise it was clear that they want the non tethered convenience of something like the Oculus Quest. I wasn't so keen as wanted better performance and then someone pointed me at the revelations of Oculus Link coming.....

From what I understood from Carmacks talk, the quest link will always run in SpaceWarp, so halved native fps. So 36fps wtih motion smoothing.
Which does introduce a fair amount of artefacting.

It will still be a smoother and better experience than using the various wifi streaming options that induces 50-200ms of latency for something I expect to be in <10ms range.

Might mention though the pimax hmd's has about 10-15ms latency in tracking to rendering as well and I found it utterly unacceptable.

That's me, apparently many think the 100ms+ over WiFi is perfectly playable.
I find myself questioning what drugs they have taken.

Anyhoo, bottom line.
Unless you have very very specific goals for pcvr the quest is the one to get.
I would still expect the S to be better for sims etc but the Quest with link should be somewhere between the S and the cv1.
