Ship dashboard extension

Postby cowasaki » Wed May 15, 2019 8:04 pm

Hello all,

I left Elite when Powerplay came out. With the increase in controls I decided to spend an afternoon building an add-on to my X52 pro and numeric keyboard.

The face plate is 3D printed to fit on a commercially available case. I am designing a case to match the X52 pro bases but 50%-80% wider in order to fit the buttons. This is a prototype and the electronics are the guts of an Xbox controller in order to avoid having to mess around with writing drivers etc plus it will always be something that is included in their software. I plan on doing a step by step instruction manual and releasing the 3D print files if anyone wants them.

So if I understand you, the plan is to mount the X-52 controls a box with extra buttons? Or is this in addition to the throttle and joystick? Either way, it's quite cool.
