WOW! That's $800 US. Christ! I like the looks of the Virpil, but that's a bit pricey. (Coming from an X52 Pro user)

Well. They aren't even trying to compete with the warthog. That wonky, thin piece of aluminium, piece of shit.

take the other hobby seems to be burning, well occasionally simmering thru the A-team.
SIM driving.

I keep occasionally popping by the fanatec website.
And cheapest cart I have ended up with there was €1400 + shipping and tax..

And that's not even a direct drive wheel.
They usually start at a grand at least and does not include pedals. heck not even a wheel rim, or a button box.
So for full kit you could easily spend €3k + plus shipping and tax.

My issue with Virpil isn't the price so much that the throttle seem utterly unsuited for elite.

A bit like the Warthog in fact.. I wouldn't want to fly in space with Cessna-like controllers :P

We'll see what their Constellation line looks like when it comes out.

Seems a little to simplified imo.

Personally how much I end up researching new sticks I end up realising that what I got is actually pretty fucking perfect.
The ch-pro throttle and fighter stick with pedals that is, is just plain perfect.

Only issue I have is the sensors need to warm up a little if I don't play for days.
Granted the sensors arent' the most precise, at best comparative with the x52, but then again ED is so arcady it doesn't matter.

Both are so light it takes barely any effort at all to move them, the throttle slides flat, it doesn't roll, the mini stick is brilliant for thrusters, the stick while being light has so much throw on it combines to being exceptionally comfortable as well as speedy.
It feels just as perfect in the suped up vulture as a t9 trucker.

The button layout on the stick is identical to the warthog, but I'm certain if I was to get a warthog I would have to also get the extender kit, I don't see myself going back to a limited throw ever.

Was however very tempted to get the mongoose around christmas time, came to the conclusion the only reason I wanted it was because I wanted something new and shiny.

Ended up kickstarting the Pimax 8k instead...
Which meant I needed a more beefy computer....

I was just hoping the price would be a bit more competitive with the Warthog.....

Then I might have considered it should my Warthog fuck up.....

But I'm not into Elite THAT much.......I'll just maintain and repair what I have....

I'm going to ignore the Cessna like controls comment....Because that is what it deserves..... :P

Besides I think they fucked up on the Mongoose with not making the thumb button (CMS on the warthog) 4 way + Press......

Same as Sim racing.....Never ever gonna get a direct drive wheel and all the set up because I'm just not that into it.....

Fair enough if people are.....But I get bored too quickly.......

It looks like they have limited their sales to the top end flight sim market...Which is fair enough if that is what they were aiming for...

Coz their space grip thingy is a joke......A very expensive one at that.......

The Warthog has it's faults....But it's perfect for me in Elite.....

I was just glad to get rid of that X52 pro.....

I did not like that at all....

Tor threw his money the Pimax way......

Mine will probably go the MFG Crosswind way.....

Virpils loss...........

:)

They are rather good even without the pedals.

It's the nature of the rotating sensors in the CH stick and the fact that CH hasn't used any form of lubrication or grease, they sometimes tend to stick in it's mechanism and the stick doesn't respond quite right.

Warming it up seems to help, so mostly just a winter thing.

Or I could just apply a little grease.
I should do that.

I know the pimax is a bit of a gamble, but if they actually get this pulled off.

VR with no SDE, and 200 degree fov, no more binocular vision..

Might need a super computer from 2030 to run it though....
For now I consider it possibly 50\50 odds between this being the most awesome thing ever since cooked meat, or giant paperweight.

Can't say I've ever noticed that.

The only problem I've had is with the throttle. The spade terminals are angled so that the cables are pointed towards the track of the actuator arm. I had to re-solder a fatigued connection and rotate the terminals 180°.
