Elite: Dangerous PvE - Mobius

What little hair I had is getting ripped out bit by bit due to issues with my new webcam.

As mentioned hereI got a new webcam and had it working with FacetrackNOIR. I went back to it last night and I just get a black screen displayed from the camera feed. It looks to be installed properly, no error codes just no picture.
I've tried reinstalling drivers, booting into safe mode and trying there, checking anti-virus interference, differnet USB ports and then the clincher - I tried it on a different PC and it's the same.

I'm assuming it's just broken but before I send it back, anything else to try?

Don't take this as a swipe... But does it have a lenscover that could have slipped over it? Do you get audio from it (if it has a Mic function)?

I checked. No lens cover.

I did check that and no. I han't double checked when connected to a second machine. Again, it all looks to be setup correctly and I could select it as 'recording device' etc but no input. Scrap that. Just checked again and sound input works when connected to this laptop.

a Besteker CAM-920C. Cheap but the reviews are good.

Did you get the latest drivers from their website? Did you try rolling back the drivers?

I was getting there Kharma.... First i wanted him REALLY frustrated so he would break out the Hammer.

Oh sorry......

Drivers , shmivers. It’s a cheap import that uses stock MS drivers. No website (that I can find) for getting different drivers and there’s only one MS version and it’s from 2015.

As to hammer, I’m thinking of seeing what happens if I drive over it. Obviously I need to wait till the replacement arrives from China so I can video the whole thing.

Well that is the problem with some of these items on Amazon, the support is crap. If the company does NOT have an easy to find website with support, then I will pass. Regardless of how many bots recommend it.
