Anyone With A Rift

Postby Cmdr Kharma » Sat Aug 19, 2017 9:03 pm

And using the debug tool........

Can they examine their logs and enter "bad" (without quotes) into the filter.....

And see if they get any "{WARNING} [HW:Health] Hardware health is BAD." reports....

Nothing like that here.

Occasionally some bitching about poor camera calibration, but that's it.

Starting to hear a few murmurs that these latest rifts might have been a "little rushed" through the QA process.

But then again it's not like the internet is burning up with "dodgy rifts threads" considering they have been selling these like hotcakes with this discount.

I would be very surprised if they haven't got as many units as vive out at this point and that the total amount of vr sets out there are fast approaching the on million mark.

Well I know at the start of the discount people were also still receiving the Xbox controller as well as the touch....

I did not......

Looking through the logs it seems to me it HW Bads out right after I turn the box on and it's in standby........

Weird thing is though.....It did not report a BAD on yesterdays log when I went straight into ED and played......

This VR is doin my crust in.......Settings fine one day.....Same settings next day and it's shit.......

Something aint right......But fuck knows what.......

Oh and ordered a cheap pair of Rift friendly glasses today from Specsavers......Only £25....So if they don't work...No big loss.....

On the sales....Well for me it was price, and I think it was for others.....

I could run £400 past the wife (JUST).......Initial price no way.......

Still It's my fault for marrying a right cow.....................

Debug tool located here C:\Program Files\Oculus\Support\oculus-diagnostics

I'm using the Tray tool mostly because I read about it before the Debug tool the option for Power Plans, USB, etc well that can be done using Control pane but appears to be permanent once set. Thanks Eh!

Apparently my Rift is in perfect health. Just curious - are you having problems (other than an annoying notice)?

I just switched to the tray tool yesterday - mostly for the USB power management and registry tweaks. Those seem to have mostly solved my CH Throttle disconnect issues, so now I can finally get full range out of my thrusters. :)
It's time to give this another go.

I use the debug tool.....

No problems as such just GPU not being utilised and frames dropping to 45.....

Same settings next day....Doing same thing and it's frames at 90.......

I looked at the logs to try and fathom it out and that's when I noticed all the HW BAD's.......

I was just asking in case someone knew something and if it was a regular occurrence.......

Seems not.........

Just wondering if I got a duff one......

Still wondering as one minute it's working great....Next minute it's crap.......And I can't seem to find out why......
