Mini Keyboard fits between throttle and stick

Postby amenditman » Thu May 11, 2017 6:40 pm

Just got this A-Jazz ak33 rgb keyboard. It has mechanical switches, rgb backlight, 12" wide.

https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B6niG ... FhCTTdubHc

It has cursor keys like a laptop keyboard, function keys, Delete, Home, PG Up/Dn, End.
The lights can be set to scroll across the keyboard in single or multi colors. You can set it to wave from left to right or the opposite. Also can set it to a solid color. Multi level brightness adjustment.
Texting + Anything Else = Texting

The something else always gets broken!

Nice. I always used a Logitech K400 series. It's small, has a good key selection, battery life, and profile. Plus, touchpad built in.

Looks good, I've been doing the same for quite some time although I changed my set-up earlier this week after I made the shift to VR. I used to use a small format HP keyboard with a separate machine for reference etc.

I particularly like your choice in books ;) This email was brought to you from a Linux system :D

Very nice, that's not a bad idea at all.

Yup, I added a tenkeyless keyboard when I switched to VR, because it's important to have the letters centered with your body for blind typing, and that would put the joystick too far to the right. My problem is that some programs use the numpad. Some can be reconfigured, but I can't change Oculus ASW settings unless I run their debug tool. I never thought of keeping both keyboards connected. I may need to try that.
It's time to give this another go.

I haven't had any problems having multiple keyboards.

I have also setup voice attack with commands to disable/enable ASW.

Just your simple basic key input, only thing I adjusted was for how long the keys where pressed. To 2 full seconds.

You're too young. I remember when there was a single dedicated keyboard connector, or even two PS2 connectors, one for mouse and one for keyboard. It wasn't until USB that you could really have multiple keyboards (I'm probably 'technically' wrong on that, but for most people it was true). Anyway, never really thought about it.

Yeah, I also never thought of using VA for numpad keys.

I don't think much.

I wasn't talking about the late 80's early 90's and, yes I remember them too.
Sorry I assumed people here had a computer capable of playing Elite dangerous, and not pong.

Heck, my first hotas was a combo of the good old 'game port' and DIN, where the keyboard would then be passed through an input on the stick.

The ps/2 was something I considered a step up in usability .

Very cool setup indeed. Thanks for sharing.

I am still trying to find the right balance of keyboard and flight stick controls. In a optimal setup, both hands should not leave the stick and throttle, during combat. Since I do not have a throttle, I kind of navigate both keyboard and stick and it can be stressful when fighting a wing of 3

What is the throttle that you use?
