Yep. Zone 1. Can't remember the rest (I can but if I post it, then someone out there that was once on it will contact me about something that happened almost 30 years ago to complain, which is why I don't do facebook :P )

Hehe I still have friends from that era. But we moved to a private facebook group :)
I was running a Fido Mailer on an ATARI STe with Binkley and no Hard Disk. Just RamDisk... oh and a 2400bps modem (upgrade from a 300bps one)

God I am old...

Ok starting from the beginning, I was very young and some of these may be steps backwards, but we were poor and some were hand me downs!

ZX Spectrum -> Amstrad with integrated tape machine and green screen (don't know model!) -> C64 -> random pc running 3.1 -> Amega 1200-> IBM Aptiva 166 Mhz 16mb ram (2 shared with video card, which was a pain in the arse!) 1.6gb HDD. Great spec bought in 1995/6 -> various laptops as went to console gaming (plz don't judge!) -> current i7 5820k, gtx 980

Just cannot bring myself to buy a gaming notebook ever again

The good thing about the GTX 1000 series is that the mobile GPU is as fast as the desktop GPU versions.

Unfortunately I just cannot pull the trigger on the Clevo ODM (insert countless brand name OEMs that are Clevo's, including Alienware pre-Dell) builds I keep configuring. Every time I assemble one for $2,000-3,000, I realize that I'm better off with a portable, 7x9x11" cube where I can plug into a hotel's HDMI, or bring along my Oculus Rift instead, for 40% the price (60% less). After all, even if I have a notebook, I still need to lug a HOTAS, and optionally my Rift. So a small, 7x9x11" cube isn't much more to lug.

And it costs well under $1,000 with the Mini-ITX sized GTX 1070 (Gigabyte or Zotac), let alone there's a new Mini-ITX sized GTX 1080 about to hit.

Problem I have found with that is many hotels block the use of the HDMI ports :(

Really annoyed though, got the confirmation that the lappy is being shipped (YAY!) but it is, according to the tracking info, coming from China! ETA is almost two weeks! So frustrating :(
