TL,DR: THERE IS NO COMPARISON!!!

Holy Crap! What a difference. With the ASUS GTX 650 1GB, I was playing Medium with stuff turned off like Shadows, Blur, AA and others. Planets killed me at barely 30-32. Stations were 25-35. SC Was great unless I was close to a Landable Planet or the sun. 80-100 then the planet popped and down to 45-50.

Popped in a MSI GTX1050TI 4GB OC. Didn't play with the clocks at all. SC was 120-150. Stations are 60 and down to 50 in Outfitting. Planets are 70-80. All this on Ultra. The only drop I get is down to 55 in Outfitting and the initial SRV Deployment drops me to 50-55 till the Buggy is released from the ship and I am on the ground. Temp never went above 65C and I have now set Vsync on so it should run cooler than that.

The difference in smoothness when driving is amazing. The atmosphere in stations is unbelievable! This upgrade is so friggin worth it! If you are thinking of updating an older card, the 1050TI benches about the same as a 960 and is cheap. Even our inflated prices here in Switzerland was less than 165 CHF. That is about 50 chf more than I paid for my 650 2 years ago.

All I can say is WOW!

The new pascal chipsets are pretty boss, no question. It is with great regret that I sit here using a 970 I bought only a few months before they debuted. Haha. Darn it.

A stock 1050, should beat 960 with 25-30%.

This 1050ti should probably compare rather evenly with a 970.

Now a better question is why did I spent 800£ on mine...

If you ever want to reminisce about the fun you had with your 650, just try running a VR headset on the 1050. ;) Grats on the upgrade though, I'm sure it was huge. I can't imagine still running on a 650. It's so limited by today's standards.

207% performance increase.

Yeah, you should notice that.

Nah, no need.
He can always activate the 24 fps limiter.

I'm running a 2Gb 650, but I don't know any better. Ignorance is bliss. (But still saving hard for a Pascal card.)

My old laptop had a Radeon 6850 in it and I was a little disappointed with seeing my chrome paint job for the Vulture look hardly different from black.

The new laptop has a GTX 1060 and I have a GTX 1080 in the external enclosure so now I'm happy that chrome looks shiny and sweet.

Until Horizons came along, a 2GiB GDDR5 GeForce 660Ti was 'good enough' for 1080p.
