If you haven't, try pcpartpicker.com. I used it for what would have been a 2k rig, spent 1,200.

I agree here. I havent used them for over 4 years and never missed them.

Or, how about building it yourself. You may save a good few ££'s there and it wont take 4-6 days building time.
In addition you will instal what you want onto your new pc and not the un-neccessary files and programs which usually come along with a pre made machine

One of the reasons I use PCS is that they don't bloatware your PC. All you get installed is the OS (not even that if you don't want it) and all other software is provided on a disc for you to install if you wish. If you purchase a computer from the high street then, yes, it comes with all kinds of poop installed.

In case you haven't hit the "order button" yet.
New rumors and evidence of a 1080ti, with 10GB of RAM.

Well if anything just the mere existence of a 1080ti in the market will push prices on the 1080 by my guess, up to a £100 quite quickly.

From the article and statements it seems the aim for it is as a mid point in performance between the 1080 and the titan, which imo doesn't have a huge gap between them to begun with.

That's the main advantage of Whitebox / Tier-2 PC OEM. They don't bloat your systems. Most Tier-1 PC OEMs have agreements with various vendors that ship all sorts of bloatware, adware and even spyware for money and/or your info.

A few resellers re-load Tier-1 PCs with Windows to remove the bloatware, most notably The Microsoft Store's 'Signature Service.' That's why I recommend The Microsoft Store for anyone looking to buy a PC notebook (they don't sell full PCs nearly as much), especially when they have some killer prices on 3-6 month old, but still new, units. Their 2-year protection plan is also good on PC notebooks.

NOTE: I wouldn't recommend their 2-year protection plan (which is even more costly) on their Surface products as Microsoft has having major issues with those (and renegging on battery coverage promises).

The main disadvantage is usually you're getting a full OEM copy of Windows that costs $100+/unit, whereas Tier-1 PCs get pricing of $25+/unit (for Home/non-Pro). Even worse, Microsoft is making it so you cannot move even the full OEM copy of Windows 10 that's $100+/unit to another PC. They key is written into the uEFI firmware and cannot be moved.

And even if not, an external SuperMulti USB 2.0/3.0 runs $20-40 (BD-RW runs $70-100).
