Just a little heads up......

If you have a series of panel layout printouts laying around.......Destroy all but the latest one......

Took all measurements off of the final one.........Bar one......

Musta picked up the wrong sheet....

Cut all the holes and screw holes......

Looked at it and went WTF......1mm out.....

Trouble is sticks out like a sore thumb......

Fuck it........

I'm gonna continue building it anyway......Had a few blingy ideas for Mk III last night as I was working on it....

*Edit*

I have a plan....To bring it back into alignment.......

Just gotta see if it's possible and what it will look like.....

Ok time to update.....

I cut the rectangular holes for the switches and did a test fit.....

Notice the cock ups......Look at the right hand panel switches.....I had to raise them because they hit on the base.....No prob as I can fill them as seen on the right hand one......

Also the bottom set of the ramp switches hit on the top panel.....No prob again...Just needed a cut out....

Secured the right hand side ramp support....

Drilled the rest of the holes and mounting bolt holes and test fitted......It was a this point I noticed the wrong measurement.....The nav button hole is 1mm out.....

I do have a way to fix it but It's not as pretty as I would have liked.......

*Edit*

The rest to follow.....Looks like the camera SD card is failing.....Some later pics are corrupt.....Just backing all on the camera up and going to format card....

Back on track.......

Slotted some cross pieces into the banks of buttons.....

It's easier to cut a complete rectangle and put these in afterwards than to try cutting the individual squares..

Unless you have a laser of course.....

In work a plant room was cleared and the rubbish bought back to the workshop......

I of course had a nosey......An old nurse call system had been replaced and the old one was to be dumped....

Took a look through the panels and found some connectors that looked a bit handy....

I found out the black cap on top was removable and it was a sorta splice connection.....

► Show Spoiler

Handy as the wires can be pulled out and I tried the wire I have and it fits perfect.....

Also it was the same pitch as the PCB headers I had......

So I ordered some headers with long pins both sides...Rather than through the board type like I had....

► Show Spoiler

Idea is to link the interface to the buttons/switches like this to provide complete easy removal or reconfiguration, no need to undo anything..

And that's it for now......
