Yea what started as a "Cheap, lets use the things I have" controller project turned into a rather expensive one....

/me eyes up a £300 3D printer for his own project - that's a feeling i know all too well ;)

Funny you should mention that......

<snip>

Whew that was close.......

:D

is bespoke laser cutting expensive? I've got 200 pieces that could do with a laser but it needs to be cheaper then spending 3k+ vat for my own machine, its metal so the cheap £150 desktop type machines won't cut it :)

Hi Kharma

Could you perhaps give us a link to that nav control buttons. Or if showing a link is against the rules could you perhaps pm me with it?

Thanx

I don't know, the experience and knowledge alone can be worth something.

I mean, if you're an American citizen, into coding, and would love to design and integrate custom controller peripherals for a living, I could use you out here at UCF working on IEEE 1278 projects (Wikipedia). That's assuming, of course, our climate in Orlando is your type. ;)

I started with buying this game, then hundreds of dollars later (joysticks, headtrackers, keyboards, other software and hardware, paint jobs), I am now thinking of a building a new PC, making a cockpit, VR or Large Monitors, and a bunch of other things......
And you guys wonder why I play Solitaire. Solitaire never made me spend Thousands of $$$$$ :P
Yeah, but also keep in mind that a gaming rig for space sims could also be used as a flight simulator. Some people use these things for their careers, pilots ... race car drivers.

Sigh, if I was young'n fit again. But I guess this is what I get for growing up near Daytona and Sebring (related article).
