AMD R9 390 8Gb and Win10 is a no no. Dont do it. My SC fps drops from 400fps to 10 and becomes unplayable. Going to re-install win 7 and will report if that works okay.

I've seen quite a few posts along these lines. Looks like an issue with the AMD drivers on Win 10.
Hopefully these gripes with drivers on the new Windows version will get sorted soon (AMD, Saitek etc).

I hope so too as I quite liked Win10. Its tidy. But I will re-install win7 tonight and see how that goes. Fortunately I am doing this on a clean new SSD so its a quick install relatively speaking. Its either that or I put my old graphics cards back in...I might do the latter now I think about it.

R9 390 on Win7 with 15.2 drivers giving me 80fps in SC and over 200 everywhere else. Phew. Stuff win10.

Are these issues with a clean install of win10 or with upgraded from earlier version?
I'm playing with GTX 660 and planning to get a new card, and I am leaning for an Radeon card this time again. Maybe one of these; 290x, 390, 390x, or maybe even fury x. Sounds really strange that amd drivers have a problem with win10, that would be something that would be fixed asap by amd.
According to the rumors the new 'Radeon software' (ex catalyst) will be released on 24. day of this month. Should be all new drivers, not just rebranded to a different name if i'm not mistaken.

Tried ED with my old pc which has good old ATI radeon HD 5770, seems to work fine with the latest driver (not the new crimson driver which dropped support for my old card)

AMD, Windows 10, and Elite: Dangerous
just do not play very well combined at this stage:

It appears there is a bug in the new software, that sets a low fan speed and can cook cards. Just an fyi.
The first Crimson drivers are now out, and they appear to have a serious problem. There are widespread reports of cards overheating and perhaps even failing permanently.
It appears that the new driver is setting the video card fans to 20 percent and then leaving them there

I was having problems with this too were the game would just seemingly randomly crash. The way I "fixed" the crashing was increase the fan speed. Still extremely laggy in hyperspace in the Ui panels thou, so gonna do some more changes and will report if I see any improvements

Did you try the latest Hotfix AMD put out?
http://support.amd.com/en-us/kb-article ... Notes.aspxIt breaks Crossfire and other issues, but it works for Single Card ED.
