Excellent chair mod

Postby Rune » Thu Oct 09, 2014 7:42 am

Hi, this got posted on the main forum and it's so good I thought I'd post it here http://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=12745

This is an ideal solution for me as my computer desk doesn't have enough room for my X52 Pro and keyboard so the KB is currently on a table beside it. Just ordered the mounts and Velcro for £44.20 inclu P&P, which is fantastic considering gaming chairs with this sort of set up cost over £200.

I've got 6 days off after Friday so hopefully these will arrive and I can get my chair set up like this :D

That's a good idea. I did consider trying something similar, but nothing was stable enough, so I just built extension boards under my table, supported by the table legs and further boards:

It's a shame that only the HOTAS works in ED.

That is a good idea....Saw it a while ago....

I've had them in my watch list for a few months now.....Waiting for me to get a chair with arms..... :)

I will do when we move.......

I was going to screw a piece of wood to them and then screw my hotas onto that......

All done now, the postie tried to deliver yesterday which I was impressed with considering I only ordered Thursday and chose free delivery.

Easy to setup (and I'm hopeless at DIY), take a bit of getting used to but much more comfortable. Very happy with how it's set up now.

Nice Rune. Do the sticks stay in place with the Velcro tape?

Yup, seems to be some very heavy duty velcro. I even tried pulling them off and they did not budge :D

Cool, that was my question and concern with it too. Might have to go down that route...I'm getting achey shoulders with the hotas up on the desk. :-)
