HUD getting doubled during combat in RED

This happened right after the 1.1 patch for me and then miraculously fixed itself and now it is back since the 1.2 patch. When I start taking fire in combat my HUD starts going haywire. The entire cockpit seems to "double" one being the orange color we all know and "love" and it is overlaid and offset by an identical RED version that gets quite annoying and painful to look at. makes the radar nearly useless as well.

Is this a "feature" or is it some sort of glitch. I am running an i7 6 core processor with 16gb ram and a 980 GTX graphics card. Month old Alienware Area-51.

I'm pretty sure that's a feature, like the sparks flying and etc. I haven't studied it, but it may only happen when your temperature reaches a certain level, and firing lasers may affect that. Also, there may be an option to turn it off, like the panel transition effects.

It a feature I believe, meant to simulate the whole 'heat of battle confusion', it seems to happen mostly if you taking fire from the front. It does make it hard to see what is going on, but I think that's the point.

Yes it's a feature. It's meant to simulate your ship trying to compensate for being hit.

Just fly a type 9, you'll see that a lot :)
