Let's see your gaming contraption....

Hello all,

I have been inspired by other peoples gaming contraptions on other forums and thought some might like it here. Post up your gaming rig so others can get some ideas.

My rig has been nicknamed the "Contraption" by the family. It was built to be used primarily to play Iracing, a car racing simulator. Even though its primary mission was car racing it also does other games such as Elite very well. I needed to be able to convert it back and forth fairly eaily depending on what I want to do so I leave the wheel and pedals mounted all the time and attached the flight controls to a removable thing that sits on my lap. This has worked very well so far.

I use a logtech Z5500 sound system to be able to use the direct surround sound from Elite. I also have two shakers mounted to the contraption's chassis, this is a great addition. The contraption vibrates with low bass tones and adds a big kick to the already large subwoofer in the system.

I built the contraption in the garage, I am 6'6" tall and all the pre built rigs out there were expensive and did no think they would fit me well. Since I built it, the seat height and leg room is good for me.

The contraption lives in a section of the garage that has evolved into a man cave environment.

Let's see how you are playing Elite.........

Awesome! Very nice indeed. All the boxes ticked.

My setup is in our livingroom, connected to a 46 inch TV and surround sound, with a spare 24 inch pc screen for when the wife is about...

I'll try to get around to posting a few pics.

Kudos FzCruzer. :)

Fairly basic by comparison, I play on a laptop connected to a 22" screen, but I just built a new dashboard to hold the hotas on my Lap.

no point posting it in an image tag as the pic is way too large for the forum.

AndyB,

I was going to wait to get mine all cleaned up but never seems to happen.

I have a large TV above the contraption also to watch some sports.
