Elite: Dangerous PvE - Mobius

I couldn't seem to find an answer searching, so I thought I'd ask.

Currently in Ebor for the CG, signed up for the "bounty" goal. After remaining here for several days grinding in the Res (normal), I'm in the Top 25% reward tier.

My question: If I leave the CG area, stop hunting, will I fall back to 50% (or lower), or once you get to Top 25% do you stay there?
I know how it SHOULD work, but I missed a day and never dropped down, which surprised me.

It's a ladder basically.
As commanders do like you, some may score more than you and make it at your place, kicking you at the lower tier.

Also as the CG grows, more commanders join and the top 25% is made of a larger number of pilots, so you can also stay there..

Just look in the mission board every now and then. If you get kicked, go grind some more to make it back up
