That you can scoop canisters directly from a planet surface with your spacecraft? You don't HAVE to have an SRV with you.

Well I didn't know till just now. I don't know if it's craft specific and you will scratch your shield of course, but I can in my Asp Explorer.

Nice to know.

N.B. It can get a bit messy if they are lying up against something, but it's possible to nudge them free by ramming them gently. Wouldn't you know.

I believe you can scoop materials too. I recall someone doing it on the DWE, but he had help spotting them.

How do you scoop while in the ship ?

I tried several times, and I never succeded to lock on ground canister or material.

Get real close.
Like <10m directly above it and keep your pitch at about 0, and see if it is in the contacts list.
Deploy scoop. dont approach directly but try to sit on like a hen on an egg.

Considerably easier honestly to just land and deploy a buggy and go fetch them.

I tried with my Anaconda. It didn't work.
Impossible to lock anything on ground.

She must be too big.
