Elite: Dangerous PvE - Mobius

Regardless of mission that requires you to find an Unidentified Signal Source you "immediately" get attacked. You aren't fully out of supercruise before your shields collapse and your hull of shredded. Usually, there are 5 NPCs all ganging up on you at the same time. You have no time to respond, all you can do is make a run for it.

What am I doing wrong, or is this a problem with the game?

Any advice, otherwise it's back to monotony space trucker simulator missions.

Sometimes it happens, getting jumped by NPC's. I just bail out and find the USS and try again.
If the same happens, I bail out and do something different.

But it does not happen all the time. I usually go to the NAV, scan it and get the coordinates of the target planet. Usually it's smooth sailing after that.
