Elite: Dangerous PvE - Mobius

Hiya,

I'm fresh back to the game after a little over a year away.

I lost a fight bounty hunting (I won many more over the last couple of evenings though), I got away ok, but my weapons are broken. Also I can't talk to any stations so I am unable to dock.

Is this ability to permanently disable weapons and communications a common thing?, and how can I defend against it in future?

Is my only option to self destruct?

There's a reboot/repair sequence on the functions tab (something like that) that may get your ship working again.

I've never heard of not being able to request docking, at least that logging out and back in didn't solve.

Might be your sensors are damaged, as mention reboot\repair should sort it.

If your sensors are offline, you can't target anything, without being able to target or 'sense' you are naturally unable to ask for docking permissions.

I heard of it, it could be either that your sensors are damaged, this seems to prevent you communicating with stations (because yoou can't lock onto them), so try the reboot/repair. Or it could be that your power plant is damaged meaning that there isn't enough power for the sensors, so try shutting down a few things or re-jigging your power priorities.

I've had it where the contacts panel wouldn't populate when i was having connection issues - had been suffering for hours with error messages when accessing station menus - maybe related?

That did it you are a life saver. After repair I had the station in contacts again so i could talk to it.

How do I stop ships shooting my guns or my sensors?

Shoot them before your shields go down

Fitting a 'Module Reinforcement Package' absorbs some of the damage reducing the damage to modules, but it takes up a cargo slot unless you are in a dedicated combat ship like a Vulture, it also adds weight and will reduce your jump range a little.

Other than that, I'm afraid it's all about killing them before they take your shields down.

And if your shields go down - you are using shields, I assume - run until they come back up.

Also, use directional thrusters to jink left/right and up/down to throw off their aim.
