Adder Exploring Loadout Advice

Postby Kafka1 » Wed Feb 01, 2017 6:06 pm

Hi I'm quite inexperienced in ED even though I've had it a while.
I'm in Sol and thought I'd like to make my way to Azrael and do exploring on the way.
Does anyone have a good loadout for my Adder?
I have 3A FSD, 3A Powerplant, 2A Thrusters, 1A fuel scoop and pulse lasers, sheild generator etc stuff I could get rid of.
I would want a Adv Disc Scanner and Detail Surface Scanner.
How can I see where in Sol sells them or do I have to hunt around for them?
Any advise is appreciated.
Thanks.

If you just want to do exploration, and will be avoiding combat then something like this will give you over 26ly

Check out http://inara.cz/galaxy-outfitting, just enter your current system and the equipment you want in the search boxes

I think the distance you'll get is between 22 and 25 light years. Regardless of the set up you use. Thats fine for traveling around the bubble.
Pre engineers I took a Cobra with a low 20 ly range out to the Horsehead nebula.
Once you get to where you want.In high or medium security systems, go to the nav beacon and carefully join the good guys killing the wanted ones. Get some credits then head to your station of choice and hand in for some early rep. Scanned systems can also be cashed in for rep and credits.

Good luck commander

Thanks for those links and advice.
Things have moved on since I was on last - Auto Field Maintenance Unit I haven't seen before, quite pricey though (I have 3 mill).
And that Inara thing looks good I will have to register for it.
I'll trundle down to Azrael and see what's going on there, it seems to be a gathering point for Mobius and I can see what I can do with my limited skills to help the Group.
Thanks and stay safe Commanders.

I would trade the Adder for a Hauler. Cheaper and quite good at what you are doing. I did well over 10K ly exploring in one.

Drawback: It is the Ford Transit Van of Elite. Try this build for under 3 Million.

You don't need an afmu unless you intend to be out and about for over a month and cover 10-20k Ly between docking.

Going from sol to Azrael is just basic trave,l so you don't need any special considerations to do so.
But grabbing a set of scanners means you can get a few $ for the trip.
The scanners might cost a million and a half but you get it all back if sell the mods after wards.

Hey I'm Thor -
People call me Bob.

Rule 1: Pillage. Then burn.
Rule 2: No such thing as overkill, as long as there are reloads.

This is a good point, I had kind of assumed you wanted to spend sometime exploring and eventually end up in Azrael, if however you are just basically heading there and doing a bit of scanning on the way then Azrael is only 10 jumps in an A rated Adder.

Well, I'm undecided, I might head straight there, but I'll keep my Adder, I like it and I have the flexibility to go and pick up some scraps at the nav beacon later if I want.
I'm not heading right out into the black yet, but that's something I'll do later on.
I'm not in any rush to change ships, just bimbling around really until something inspires me :)
