Quick question on controls

Postby Avedis1134 » Wed Dec 28, 2016 12:44 pm

I'm using an XBOX 360 controller, and I'd like to know if there is a single button, or other simple shortcut, to re-focus on the next system in your route after scanning the local stars/planets. Currently, the only thing I know to do is scroll the Nav tab and hope the next star makes the list, or open the galaxy map.

The game offers this function, but it is not mapped to any button/key by default. If you have a free button, you can re-map it. The best way to get an overview what is mapped is to use the reference sheet generator available at https://www.mcdee.net/elite/

There is a binding for that in the PC version, and I use it all the time. It works for the next system, and also for stations or planets, which is useful for getting back to the station after cycling through all the ships flying around. I don't remember what it's called, but I don't see why the Xbox wouldn't give you the option to reassign a button (assuming it allows that in general ).
It's time to give this another go.

Oh, I'm on PC, just using an XBOX controller. I'll go through the menus, but there are so many binding options, I wasn't sure where to start :)

Look for something like Next System in Route in Navigation ... ;)
It's time to give this another go.

It is in the Targeting -menu, "Target next system in route".
Remember that on xbox controller you can also set "shift" key too, for example by pressing A and X together on controller you get "Target next system in route".
I play on PC, in the Mobius PVE Eurasia group.
