DBS/DBE

Been messing with coriolis - the two ships as above...

Been looking for an alternative to a viper and something relatively cheap to outfit...

Now - even with loosing a little agility does the DBE not perform better in combat with the large hard point ? Shields and hull difference is negligible

Or would you stick to a viper ?

I don't want any cargo carrying capability on the ships as I will be keeping my cobra for the interim - so I want a ship which packs a punch and can hold it's own, and not cost me a fortune to lose as I'm gaining confidence taking on bigger ships...

Took on an anaconda the other night and was following the usual guides of staying behind it... But due to my inexperience on what it can do, allowed myself to track underneath and two volleys later my shields had been popped... 4 pips to engines and Woosh off I went :)

I doubt either ship will really outperform a Viper, the DBS and DBE's trick is their long jump range.

DBS is a great ship IMO.
This is my build:

I can run the beams for a long time and the DBS is great at heat dispersal. That's why it's currently being used as a stealth "hit'n'run" by some players.

I love the DBS and it works as a combat ship, the DBE though I have not messed with.

Now I like that - I can swap the docking computer for the surface and detailed scanners and do some exploring whilst I'm jumping around...

Heat sink launcher used much? Or is that part and parcel of the hit and run mode?

You'd have to ask someone who's using the stealth version, but I'm assuming heat sink launcher are the first thing to install.

Isinona made a video of him trying a\ stealth bulid:

I'm a big fan of the DBS. Having a heat sink launcher's handy if you want to do a few BB smuggling missions with it. It'll carry 12 tons of cargo and still have room for a level 3 SCB, so combining smuggling and combat can work fairly well.

DBS is a brilliant little ship, i kept mine for a veeerrryy long time, probably more than i had too, just because it was a nimble little fighter with decent shields and amazing heat management.

DBE is ok.. as an explorer, i wouldn't wanna take one into a fight but that's based on how i have it fit for exploration, it's shields are tiny.

Would recommend DBS :)
