Bounty / Contract killing

Not done much fighting in B2 ... but recently I thought Id give it a go.
Getting a few credits for killing off wanted baddies.
Went back to a Viper to try my hand at it . I usually have cannons equipt, but, recently Ive not been doing to well with them.
So... with the recommendation from a few chaps on TS ... I opted for 4 x Gimballed, overcharged Multi cannons .
Nice weapon of choice . Now .. Ive done well wreaking havoc with them through the various conflict zones, and managed to get a few bulletin board missions also to reap the rewards of killing in the war zones, as well as the basic 350 bounty per ship.
Occasionally , you do have to go to a station to re fill on ammo. I was averaging around 6 kills per refill.

On the way back ... I stopped at a USS ... just out of interest.
Came across an Eagle ... low and Behold, its a name I recognise off the bulletin boards.
Mistral. He deploys weapons and decides to have a go.
So ... we danced for a while ...
He was a bit shifty, and fast on his feet, plus he knew a few moves, .. I'll give him that .
After a few passes, Id managed to take out his shields, so he decides to try do a runner.
He boosts off, but I manage to catch up... a few more nimble turns, and he's doomed.

Its a shame I didnt manage to get a bit closer at the last shot, so I could see the look of disbelief in his eyes ...
Image
I got approx 2.5k bounty for killing him. Not much. But, If id have accepted the contract mission on him, it would have been 10 times as much.

Back at Azeban city ... checking out the boards. Wanted ... Glory Charger ... 174k reward. Im having that, I tell myself.
What could possibly go wrong ? ?
Fully restocked on ammo, I head off. Get to the system he's supposed to be in.
Flying around ... kept checking contacts for the ships in the area, and briefly scanned them to see who they are . Im not using a FSD wake scanner, or Kill warrant scanner. Just the basic - point in there general direction.
Once again ... came across a USS .
Targeted the ship ... spun around to try get a look ...
There he is ... Glory Charger !!
In his 'Conda . Shouldnt be a problem once you get behind them, they're not so nimble ! ... Oh, and he's Elite.
Image
He fires off these lovely little blue balls of slow moving light ... Hahaha ... Plasma Accelerator. Id remembered trying these out in B1 ... overrated, slow ... and all in all, a bit disappointing for the 800k they cost.

First pass ... I let go with a continous 4 second rip-roaring-blast from my 4x multicannons . Took down his first bar on his shields . He, on the other hand likes to go for the old ramming technique .
Heads straight for you ... doesnt deviate.
I turn around for the second pass ... only 2 more like the last and his shields will be gone ...
Im loving it ... :D
So ... of we go again ...

The next thing ... he hits me ... with what I can only describe, felt like being hit by the side of a planet, travelling at maximum velocity, combined with an electo magnetic pulse of gargantuan proportions ! ! !

Im spinning about ...shields gone ... hull down to 30% ... bloody dashboard is sparking like its about to burst into flames ... and alarm bells blaring out. WARNING ...WARNING.
Trying to get my bearings ...So I hit boost to get outta there ...
Im now sea sick from the constant spinning ... The only saving grace, is that I dont have an Occulus Rift ... cos If I did ... I would be cleaning up Vomit from all over right now ! ! !

The icing on the cake, was the heat seeking missile he launched ,( and believe me - I was giving off serious heat !) which swiftly put me out of my misery 3 seconds later.

Jolly good laugh though, I'll tell ya ! !

Time for a beer after that !!
Cheers ;)

Good on yer, Cmdr Nemetos! ;)

It doesn't matter if you get blown to hell, as long as you have a good time in the process :D

If you're on tonight, we can go bounty hunting together - getting my Viper kitted out for action. 8-)

Had a few scraps over at Wyrd conflict zone last night.
Stationed up at Bokeili station over night for another bit of scrapping come the morning.

Everytime there was a mission to destroy ships in the conflict zone, I accepted it. Ranging between 4 - 9 kills.
Then waited for the BB to reset.
Picked a few up at a time. The time span was to be completed in over 1hr 30 mins, sometimes as much as 3 hrs.
Plenty of time then. So ... plod plod plod, kept doing that. In total, before setting off giving myself an hour to complete the mission.

In addition, I picked up a couple of Contracts for Sirocco ... he was supposed to about Wyrd, so thought Id give that a bash too .

I had about 9 conflict zone missions, and 3 contracts for Sirocco, all for the same place.

After getting around 4 kills in the Low Intensity zone, I had to make a hasty retreat to get repaired. Took a bit of a bashing from an Anaconda and its beam lasers.

Back at Bokeili ... spent about 5k in total on repairs, fuel, and ammo.
Checked the BB board again . Got more missions for the same conflict zone ... also , another 3 contracts for Sirocco... giving me a total of 12 Conflict missions - ranging from 9k - 26k for killing warships. And a total of 6 Contracts averaging around 35k each.

Back to the zone to finish off the fight.
Bish Bash Bosh ... loadsadosh.
12 kills at 350 each, plus the mission rewards gave me a total of ...
189300 credits ... minus a few grand for repairs.

Now to track down the elusive Mr Sirocco ... where oh where could he be .. ?
Image

I spent the next 2 hours, travelling back and forth between the stations in Wyrd ... stopping off at any USS I came across.
Popped a few pirates passing through, as they were Wanted . 26k profit there for bounties.

Interesting note ... I didnt have any cargo in my hold , so after they scanned me, they left me alone ... giving me the edge to line up on them for an unexpected attack . Great stuff.

I happend to come across War Essence twice ... managed to get close for a happy-snap ...but he doesnt like company, and fired off a couple of missiles. I was outta there ... didnt want a repeat of the Glory Charger episode.
Plus Id have lost all my Contracts.

Time passed on , and after making about 4 trips back and forth, about 14 stops at USS's ... and time was running out for the contracts.

Im sorry to add ... that I never met up with Sirocco ... he is as elusive as The Scarlet Pimpernel ...
Damn him ... Could have been another 200k profit if Id bagged him.

On the plus side ... Bought myself 500k worth of powerplant , and a wake scanner. Now Im skint again.

Back to hunting baddies ...

Cheers :P

You know Sirocco is the name of a wind? No wonder he's difficult to find. :)

Well, if you'd seen the old VW Scirocco adverts on German TV, you'd know it was born out of a desert wind.....

Although the second generation Scirocco was always considered a girly motor :D

Mind you, which one does this remind you of...?
