Elite: Dangerous PvE - Mobius

I know we are a PVE group but is anyone up for a bit of fighting. What I am suggesting is either a free-for-all Royal Rumble type thing or a cup draw 1v1 tournament. Basic Sindwiders only so no one can lose anything but a bit of fun. No prize. No kudos. No nothing. Just a bit of fun. What you think?

Oh I would very much love to, but I can't play all of next week.
I might be able to join on or after the 28th.
That would make it more a new years rumble, I know.
If you're still up to it by then I'll try to make some time.

I would suggest one makes an extra private group and the others join to prevent any "accidents " in the group or open play.

Yes. Especially considering witnesses who are in this group but haven't read this forum and come across CMDR's blasting away at each other. In a PvE group.

I'm not knocking it, by the way. I like the proposal.

Can I suggest someone proposes their Commander as one to 'friend' with as a splinter group for dust ups? Maybe with some 'safe' words in Comms to identify contenders from onlookers (someone may just want to watch). Also make it clear before engaging in combat to switch off 'Report Crimes Against Me' to avoid gaining warrants?

It is a good idea but, logisticly, I can't see it working.

For instance my Sidey is currently 160LY away from me, after travelling that distance I would then have to try and navigate (in an unpimped Sidey) from there to the location that everyone agrees to fight, then fly back to where I have parked my Cobra, and do the 160 LY trip back to Sorbago, where I am currently trying to do my bit for the Empire.

Until there is a "Drop Off" service available for collecting parked ships it seems a lot of effort for a couple of hours fun.

You could travel in your "good" ship, and buy a sidey once you get to the meeting point. It's not like they were expensive. And then you sell it again after the event.

That makes sense....
