I just realize that OoM is Empire based.

I am a Federally aligned Commander. Exactly zero of the OoM bases are Fed. Once my Fed Ranking is done, V-Adm headed to Adm. I could move to an Independent system, but I couldn't bring myself to stay under a Slave State. What suggestions might anyone have?

What do you know of the Federation that makes you so intolerant of the Empire?

I can't get behind inherited rank and privilege, in a word Monarchy, and I definitely can't get behind slavery. It looks to me like the Emp and Feds are about the same, with those two exceptions.

OoM is not aligned to anyone, the base is indeed in Empire space but it is not pledged to the Empire or anyone else. OoM is independent and always will be.

So, taking a mission for OoM won't benefit the Empire? This is just RP-ish info. It seemed like OoM was Empire based when 11/15 systems, with the Mobius named bases were in Emp space. The remaining 4 are Independent. I couldn't find a single Fed system with a Mobius base.
It's just a curiosity/

Doing mission for the Order will not raise your standing with the Empire therefore there will no benefit for the Empire by this. Selecting the missions with a bit of care you might not even help minor factions that are allign with the Empire. Trading might be a bit more difficult, but if you're serious about your views you'll find independent systems to trade with.

Good to know. I was trudging along trying to get to Admiral, but there is no real reason to. Being a non-Empire guy in Empire space could get interesting.

It's definitely a challenge, but you'll almost always fight empire factions when we expand - so there is a bright side

The Empire ships / factions aren't going to attack you simply because you are a Fed backer. I am allied with both major factions, and hold the rank of Rear Admiral in Fed and King in Empire. I travel between the two major factions with no difficulties at all (sans the typical PP interdictions). As others have said, OoM is Independent. Feel free to support the cause.
If you do BB missions for OoM, they will support our minor faction. If you participate in the war efforts in Exioce, it will support our faction.

Once you rough up a Minor Faction enough they get to hating you. That's what I was alluding to. I will be plotting a run to Azreal ver soon.
