An interesting list, but some of those posts are nearly a year old and contain information that is out of date due to major revisions and minor tweaking.

The latest collection of observations can be found here: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=193064.
It also contains a lot of information on what is currently not working properly

This is a work in progress, but most of the comments are based on 1.4. We've been promised a substantial revision to the BGS "soon", possibly before 1.5, which will contain even more changes, fine tuning, corrections and - perhaps - a whole new set of bugs for our entertainment. Latest comment from DB: "We're working on it."

Thanks for this Lion, very useful. (although quite a bit of it is out of date now, for example abandoning missions doesn't lower the factions rep anymore).

Confirms what we have been saying however, we need to raise our influence in Exioce, trigger a civil war, win that war and take control, first of Miller, then Macmillan Depot, finishing with the controlling station Fort Lawrence.

The issue remains of course that the BGS is screwed at the moment, civil unrest is a natural result of expansion, to quote the wiki
The act of expansion is a costly one, and the wealth and development rating suffers during the period of expansion.
and for civil unrest
Is triggered on decreases of security and standard of living.
. However this doesn't explain why it happened so quickly and why it went away so quickly.

At the moment, I think the thing to do is to just keep doing what we are doing.

I see some OoM missions at Miller's that ask for killing Authority vessels at Azrael. Perhaps this triggers civil unrest also? A warning to our allies not to take these missions?

This is a known bug. Currently, branches of expanded factions are not above offering contracts that will damage their root faction. You just have to watch out for them.

I picked up two BB missions from Miller station this morning to kill pirates in Azrael. Double whammy! (Yes, I'll make sure that the pirates are not OoM before I partake in the destruction of their vessels)

Yeah this is what I am doing this weekend too. Killing pirates for the OoM. Of course not OoM pirates. They are good guys, just lost their way and we should try to help them find their way back.

Is it true that charity and donation 'missions' actually hurt the factions you make the donations to? I seem to recall something of an increase towards economic bust if I am correct.
