Bennfits will be whiskey and rubbers.

Well, that could be fun. :D

Would it really ?

At best it would be something like the weird, less than playboy saucy trading cards you got in the first witcher game for your romantic conquests.
Might be since I'm not twelve anymore but I simply fail to see the draw in that.

I'm with Loriath, it's just pointless and neither of PP faction heads are people I would run into a burning building for, well maybe Aisling but that would solely be from a nintendo'esque "save the princess" syndrome.

I feel happy for you! ;)
Up to what age can you drive around in you spaceship and call your self "mercenary"? :)

Until my six'th Millennial birthday, and the day after I die in bed with 17 beautiful women (not models, women with a bit of curve to them)

I can respect that! :D
Can you live with me being mentally 12?

That's not my problem (not that it is one) I wouldn't exactly pretend to be "mature" either.

Well, this far, those that have written in this post, don't seem to love E:D Power Play.
What kind of Power would you like to join?

For PP to work the player has to feel emotionally involved in what happens, in RL people will join the services and fight for their country because they have an emotional attachment to it, they've been brought up to believe in what it stands for, if you like they have been indoctrinated into it's ideals.

In games people acquire an emotional attachment because they have been taken through a story, can place a character or faction in context. To some degree in ED the Empire vs. Federation vs. Alliance has this because they have been in the game for years, so people can "get them".

The problem with PP is that the Powers were just dumped on us, we went from nothing to PP overnight, they don't have the story or context for player to feel attached to them. In situations like this, there is no reason to put up with the effects of being pledged, and as such the inconveniences far out way anything you might get from being pledged.
