where is everyone?

Hello,

is still anybody here?

After a few months I started playing E:D again. Over the weekend I hauled for the community goal, Alliance side, in the Mobius Eurasia group.

I did not encounter a single other player. My history log is empty since 2018 (!). At a community mission.
Has Mobius gone dormant?

Hello CMDR Clavis,

Mobius is surely still active, but even having all those members it still takes a bit of luck to meet more than a few on missions...
And who knows, summer holidays might be in for some extra absences... like myself drinking Mojito's and smoking Cohiba's will be my main activity away from ED for the next weeks ;)

Hope to meet you in the Black one day!
My main homebase is Pedersen's in Colonia, but from time to time I pass by in the Bubble for some unfinished business ;)

I've no idea what that means.

@Clavis Did everyone gather in one place the last time you were in Mobius?

It has been very quiet in the Eurasia group for quite a while now. I used to see quite a few cmdrs at Jameson and now I'm lucky to see 1 or 2 when I log on. It used to be much busier when the group was first setup though.

I think what has happened, is that quite a few people, myself included, joined the new Eurasia group from the original Mobius group, thinking that the original group would be closed shortly after as part of a dormant accounts cull. When that didn't happen, I think folks have just migrated back the the original group, leaving the Eurasia group looking quite empty.

You may be right, and I hope they have not left the new group.
They never needed to leave the original group,
and the new group is only at 8000 active members.
Other than the veteran migrations, MOBIUS PVE EURASIA should contain
*new* active members since the old groups are closed.

MOBIUS original will get reset at 10000 members.
We did state this in posts.

Perhaps if people started truly making the new group a new active home,
and actively encouraging their mates to move over too and migrate over
smoothly and orderly, and dedicate play time to the new group instead of
falling back due to old habits and selecting the old group, it would work.

Basically, if it feels empty in the new group, and all your mates are in the old group,
the answer is not to go back to join them, but get them to join the new group too.

I know for a fact, if I get over 2000-5000 join requests in that one week,
(or hundreds of posts asking 'why was I kicked out of Mobius?')
when the new group hits 10000, I'm taking a few days off and not killing myself approving
members who didn't read our posts over the past nigh 2 years.

I don't think anyone would actually blame me, it takes over an hour just to approve 20 people into one group alone,
and that is if they have filled in a form and gotten their CMDR name right.. one wrong letter, fullstop or space character
and I have to spent more time chasing emails.. I have a life too :)

It's not as if we have NOT been telling people "Please please do this..." or that it only applied to 'some' people.)

It does apply to all members of the original "MOBIUS" PC group, not the "MOBIUS PVE" group,
(even though they too have the new MOBIUS PVE AMERICA pc group at about 3000 members)

All current members of the original (Europe) MOBIUSPC group
should submit a request form to join the new MOBIUS PVE EURASIAPC group.

When the MOBIUS group gets reset to clear out inactive accounts,
and you are not in the new group when it reaches 10000 members (currently at 8700 members)
you may not be in a Mobius Community private group.

Better safe than sorry :)

To be fair, Open, outside of very few particular systems, is completely desolated as well, so Mobius group feeling empty shouldn't feel like something unusual I guess...
