You did good got there in one piece, some commanders sometime take the self destruct option not sure if that is applicable or for that matter works.

You dont have to leave the bubble for isolation. I started paying ED after a long break, have been playing quite long sessions each weekend. I started off basing myself out of the Azrael at the Order of Mobius station, now at LHS 20. Well over 100 hours in the last four months. During that time I have not seen one other player.
