Yeah there is a bug in the beta.

There is a FSS tutorial that launches first time you start the FSS.
This does not display at all in VR...
And it hijacks all button inputs while it's displayed..

Instead come fly hawg's in DCS much more fun :)

You can get by the tutorial issue by launching into regular 2d and go through it, then switch back to VR.

Oh, and darksides of planets are actually dark !!
But if you wan't you can turn the entire view into a Tron legacy simulation with the Night vision.
But this can be turned off if you wish.

This cockpit mode thingie is utterly useless. If i activate a fire group where there are scanners it should just trigger the scanners. If i switch to weapons, why on earth would the analysis mode be needed?
They should work something out like being able to assign cockpit modes on the fire group page..

And if you try to use the modes as a way to set sub groups you get spammed with messages like "MODULE NOT SUPPORTED IN CURRENT MODE !"

what's the point of adding these modes when you need to make uphteenth different fire groups anyways?

Well guess what.....Newest beta missions are fucked......

Took a mission from Roeds.........Collected the stuff......Got conformation it was in my hold.....From Roeds....

Got to destination....And bye jove it wasn't......

Destination Board Said pick up point was the station I was at.........

It Lied......

Hard to catch in VR...........

But it said the port I was at was the collection and delivery port.....

On going in tonight it now says pick up point is Cherry Dock......

And there I was thinking the NHS was the only one that moved goal posts on a daily basis......

Be grateful - if I play any version my bindings file gets reset. Can't play at all. Looks like a re-run of January's problems (which didn't affect me).

I tried mining yesterday. Oh joy of pages of fire groups...

Now i have:

-discovery scanner and main weapons
-pulse wave scanner and prospectors
-Abrasion blaster and collectors
-Displacement missile and seismic charges

All that mixed with the delightful cockpit modes.

If i wanted to be efficient i'd need one more fire groups as such :

-pulse wave scanner and prospectors

-seismic charges and collectors

If i was a nostalgic nerd.. let's add another one !

I mean.. my hotas has unused buttons..
My DIY controller has TONS of buttons i could use for extra fire buttons... WHY TF are we limited to 2 fire buttons per fire group..
I could have a combat fire mode and a mining fire mode with as many fire buttons as i want for each hard point and be pretty fast at anything i do but nope..
I guess it's time for a feature request, but i am sure that one has been done many times.

A third fire button has been requested many times.

And each time it's ignored or some bland reply like "the UI is only set up to two".
But I honestly think the main reason is consoles and game pads not having enough buttons.

And I just got a new throttle that can support up to 50 buttons.
80+ with a mode selector that actually work.

But the game only recognise 32 buttons from any one device.

Well.. we don't have cross platform in ED so they could just unlock the PC version since we don't share these console limitations.. uuuuuuuuugh...

UI limited to 2 fire buttons, SRV not meant to be shared in multicrew.. i think we could go on for a long time about things that were conceived without any kind of foresight or imagination.
Maybe Elite dangerous Horizons season 2 Beyond chapter 5 and three quarter will introduce some quality of life overhaul...

But well, judging by the stream i just watched for the ships reveal, i really feel nobody at Frontier plays Elite at all.
About that one, i believe it's the first ship introduction that gives absolutely no details about said ships.

To me they both looked crap to what is already available.....

Also harping back to the SRV's....I thought there was originally supposed to be different ones......

Like ones that could actually carry cargo........

Rather than 2 occupied space pods......I want a full blown orgy......

A big update with focus on exploration and mining, you wouldn't think it would be difficult to think that maybe a new explorer and a new large multi-purpose would be useful
