Elite: Dangerous PvE - Mobius

.. and it didn't end in disaster. I am by nature exceedingly paranoind and wary of players, especially in a game where PvP can be forced upon my at any time.

I hadn't seen a single other player until today, when I was visiting an engineers base for the first time.

Found this to be true as well. I think it is the over representation of griefing toward players when first starting out in a game, that makes open PvP have such a sense that a game will be a 'rule of terror' where there is no point if you are the weaker by stat/gear/experience/etc (Sadly, some MMORPGs have near proved this thinking right).

My second CMDR I decided to play exclusively in Open. I've had no issues what-so-ever.
OK, that might be because that CMDR is off exploring the galaxy and hasn't seen another ship for months

The main reason I'm joining Mobius is because 100% of my two (2!) encounters with other players were this: murderhobo camping at the nav beacon kills me (unladen) trying to sell 50+ million worth of exploration data in Deciat. Sigh.

Never played in Open since, when was Mobius founded, in 2014 or so? Back in the Beta I had enough experience with human players not to like it
Mobius enables me to play just how I like it and if I am near hotspots, I love the interaction with other commanders. Even when the are confronted with a Beluga entering or leaving the mailslot So if you see CMDR Coenen, feel free to say hi and/or do a friend request. But please mind the Beluga is a tight fit in the mailslot

I used to play open and encountered many commanders with no issue. But after several interdictions and losing cargo and ships to pvp’ers I did some research and found Mobius. I exclusively play here and have for a long time. I honestly can’t say I have ever seen another commander. Where is everyone? It’s juts like playing in solo mode. I’m not out in the black. Just doing stuff in the bubble. Even at popular stations I have never seen another player.

Don't NPC's attempt interdiction in Mobius then?

Yes Npc will interdict on missions and if you have decent cargo but that’s nothing like a real person. Never had a problem with an npc interdiction. I just surrender then burst away and jump don’t even fight the mini game. But a real player is a different story
