Elite: Dangerous PvE - Mobius

I had a random thought recently.....
You enter a station in a small ship so get assigned a small pad.
You then buy a big ship.
It obviously can't fit the pad you just landed on and I've never been told I can't buy a ship because of the pad size I arrived at.
I have to assume that you get sent to a larger pad elsewhere in the station.
Sigh... I'm going to have to test that now, aren't I?
Unless someones already done it?

Changing, buying ships changes your pad around, it's a quick reload of the area and if needed the servers will put you into a new instance if nothing is available.

Sometimes you can end up on the same pad if you switch between like for like, but not often.

You have already done this BTW, EVERY TIME YOU HAVE BOUGHT OR CHANGED SHIPS...

Fair enough, but it's the first time I've ever thought about it...and there was no need to shout.
I shall just carry on as normal, until the next strange idea comes into my head.....
