Been back in the driving seat for the last month now. Besides being generally more able than I was early last year, a gentleman who works in the supported living scheme where I live, has a very tech enabled son (bit of a kid really) who has made me USB peddles for under the desk. They are long things kind of like church organ foot pedals. I have two for my right foot and three for my left foot. I have the right ones for fire and target and the left ones for my pips. Its working out fairly well to be honest and while it seemed awkward to start, they are starting to feel like second nature now. I am sure I am still capable of the friendly fire that JohnLuke had to suffer from me. I still have to have all my eggs in one basket, as in I can't have separate fire zone, I have to fire everything or nothing so I am sure it makes me slightly less effective.

The important thing is am I enjoying it again? The short answer is Yes! :D

Glad to hear that you're back at it, old friend! Let me know if you want to wing up sometime.

Greetings JohnLuke, I would love to wing up with you again, although it seems very one sided. I fire on you and take bits out of your shields and you fire on me and heal mine :D . I will get back to you when I get back to Mobius space. I am away in Federation space seeing about increasing my Fed rank. I really do want that Vette but being in Imperial space all the time I am never going to get it. I passed Duke in Imperial rank forever ago, but I don't want that ship.

I don't like grinding for anything, but unless I am willing to move home and all my ships for a period of time into Fed space, I think grinding is the only other option? tried doing station rescues for rep, was totally bored after a couple of hours. Trying to find a couple of close stations where I can run multiple data missions but can't seem to find them. Maybe you can give me yours?

About a month ago went up from Ensign to Admiral with help of Sothis - Ceos data delivery loop. It's not as fast as Imp rank grind, but IMO the best way available. A bit mindbogging, but progression is steady. Getting to Rear Admiral won't take too long. I did it with Python, picked up some cargo delivery missions along with data (have ~180 cargo capacity), to top off missions limit. Some of these cargo runs provided pretty high rep or can pay very rare manufacture mats, so kinda killing two birds with one stone.

Also tried rescue missions, as some people suggest, but it really didn't seem to go as fast as data delivery for some reason.

Thank you commander Dragonporn, I will give that a look at. My Fed rank is currently Lieutenant Commander and has been that way for two years, although I have only just been able to get back to the game after a year out.

Darkmere, I'd gladly hand you the keys to my Vette if Fdev would let me.

Let me know how your Fed rank grind goes, bud.

Hi JonhLuke, the information given to me by Dragonporn is proving to be 'doable' (thanks Dragonporn), and I am expecting to have the job done before weekend. I will then get back to oom space and have a days break, maybe two. I will get back to you next week, see if we can go find something to shoot at.

Sounds very good, all done and dusted already. Was not so much of a pain as I expected. So now probably on Friday I will be getting back to oom space, then I have to think about the new ship, as what weapons to fit. I know I can just use most of the modules from my Anaconda but the weapons I am not sure about. The Vette has 2 huge weapons. I know my Annie has a multi cannon as its huge weapon. I don't know how well the Vette copes with heat distribution. My current loadout on the Annie copes very well. As you know JohnLuke I am not able to deal with more than one fire setup, they all have to fire at the same time and so maybe the normal recommendations as regards Vette loadouts would not be a good option for me.

Wow.... that was quick. :) Congrats on your new Vette purchase! 8-)

My weapons loadout is low heat and easy on the power distributor. I think it would work pretty well for your 'all in one' firing needs. You'll go through some m/c ammo, so being able to synthesize more while in the RES would be handy.

It's all legacy engineered... because I'm too damn lazy to go back through and re-engineer everything.

I use rapid fire multi cannons (one with corrosive) on the two huge hardpoints. The other 5 hardpoints are efficient beams, with the large belly mounted one having healing capabilities. Charge enhanced power distro.

Here's the setup if you want to get a better look at it. It's not state of the art by any means, but it's quite effective.

I've got a three day weekend coming up if you want to try and find a time that works for both of us to wing.
