I finally found a working raw mats trader after an hour or two of messing around and it looks like some materials are incorrectly graded.

Even so, the crashed conda at Orrere lets you fill your boots with G4/5 raw materials which you can trade around, so I'm not sure what's gonna happen there. I checked it out on the beta server and it's still there (for now). (Antimony, Ruthenium, Tellurium, Tungsten and Zirconium if memory serves).

Orrere 2B 43.8 -173.9

I'm not sure if they are buffing returns from prospecting/mining, but I don't really have a baseline for comparison so I've not checked that.
If they do, then the crashed conda (and others like it?) will be less relevant.

It's basically pitch black down there (I enhanced the image) and not very flat, even though it looks it.
I'm going to park CMDR Likewise down there for a bit so if anyone wants a wing beacon to fly to, let me know.
Scan the datacore dooflipper in your SRV before you leave too so you get a beacon for next time. (I mention this because, y'know, I forgot /flex).

Beta 3.0 Patch 3: Notoriety now updates periodically during gameplay (reducing by 1 unit per hour of gameplay)

So now if you want to keep up your notoriety you need to keep killing noobs ever hour? Thanks FD.


Beta 3.0 Patch 3: The dark side of planets will no longer be pitch black.

I didn't get to see this, but it sounds like they broke it again. Thanks FD.

Sounds more like they want to test a certain feature and the degradation of said feature in beta.

All the notoriety does is stop you paying off your bounties at interstellar factors, so kill two people you have to wait two hours of game time (has to be in-game time) before you can pay it off, they also tweaked the value penalty to be 10% (per notoriety point) of the difference between the rebuy of your ship and their ship, so kill enough sidewinders in a vette and expect a weighty bounty to pay off.

As for planets, yeh I was worried about that too, but the change is quite subtle, before they were completely black, now it like you have the smallest amount of light, a bit like you've been standing out in a dark field for 10 mins, you can basically make out a few shadows.

Those dark sides look good. Thanks. I don't necessarily want it "pitch" black, except maybe on the dark side of a moon, eclipsed by a planet, 100000ls from the local black hole, on the fringe of the galaxy. :roll: I just hope it looks good in VR - I just started playing again, partly because of the return of darkness.

As for notoriety, I assumed it would be a badge of honor for griefers, so they would want to keep it high. I imagine with billions of credits and engineered ships, they aren't too worried about paying off bounties.
It's time to give this another go.

Haha. I don't think that is going to be too difficult to do. I did some testing with an FDL that's half engineered in a High Sec Fed system, and didn't have much trouble destroying clean ships. I just had to take a 5 min break to get repairs at the system next door, and I was back at it.

Material storage has been increased, and FSD synthesis tweaked (THREAD)

Materials Storage and FSD Synthesis.




Hello Commanders!

This is a quick update to let folk know that we are increasing materials storage capacity in the following manner:

Tier 1: 300
Tier 2: 250
Tier 3: 200
Tier 4: 150
Tier 5: 100 (no change)

In addition, we have updated the FSD boost synthesis recipes to the following:

FSD Basic
Carbon 1
Vanadium 1
Germainium 1

FSD Standard
Carbon 1
Vanadium 1
Germainium 1
Cadmium 1
Niobium 1

FSD Premium
Carbon 1
Germainium 1
Arsenic 1
Niobium 1
Ytrium 1
Polonium 1

These changes should hopefully drop in the next few days.

Beta is soon over, and I just realized that

you can try all ships, including rank-locked like Cutter and Corvette! Also for 10% cost.

Grab them in the Wyrd system and have fun.
