Power Distributor Questions

On my passenger ships I always have my power distributors engineered to engine focus. When it comes to my pure combat ships I have my power distributors engineered to 'high charge capacity' and to be honest I am not sure if that's a good thing as it does carry a recharge penalty, but my warped logic figures I should engineer them to something and that seemed as good as anything else.

Do you have your combat ships engineered to weapons focus? I have always been put off by this as I think a combat ship, that the shields are as important as the weapons, so in short, when it comes to combat ships I am very confused as to what to do. So the question. What do you do and why?

My vote is for charge enhanced. It will benefit all three aspects and not pigeon hole you into a specific subset.

It depends on how your weapons are engineered. I usually prefer weapons enhanced on my combat ships that have a lot of thermal weapons.

Personally, I go for a balance of speed and firepower on my combat ships so it's charge enhanced for me.

I use weapon focused on my Vette which I specifically use for combat. But on my main ship, the Python, which I use for basically everything I went charge enhanced. Same with the Cutter, charge enhanced.

Also use high recharge across the board.

I abuse my distributor in all flavor's and I already constantly flick around power pips as needed.

And when I also use bi-weave resists shields, the recharging of shields is so powerfull it would drain out my wep focused distributor with ease.

I use charge enhanced for my combat ships. My other ships don't have engineered distros.

Charge enhanced is the only way to go.
